On February 3, 29 Clinton Prairie band students earned 14 gold ratings and 6 silver ratings at the ISSMA District Solo and Ensemble Contest (every entry received either a gold or silver rating!) Five of those students earned gold ratings in the top solo division and will advance to the State contest. Those students are Evey Brooks, Adam Brucken, Luke Brucken, Colton Oswalt, and Alexis Ramsey. Additionally, two ensembles will also advance to the State contest: A trio of Jackson Bessler, Nathan Brettnacher, and Evey Brooks, and a quartet of Maddie Allen, Morgen Carr, Colton Oswalt, and Isabelle Schilling. Quite notably, we have several students going to state for multiple events: Evey Brooks will be going to state for piano solo, euphonium solo, and euphonium trio Alexis Ramsey will be going to state for vocal solo and french horn solo Isabelle Schilling will be going to state for vocal solo and a woodwind quartet Colton Oswalt will be going to state for flute solo and a woodwind quartet Mr. Villano stated that he believes "this is the biggest group of students qualifying for state contests from both the band and choir departments in some time. We are very proud of their hard work, and are excited for them to represent Clinton Prairie at the ISSMA State Contest".
