Senior Ava Wylie is currently employed as an intern at the Frankfort Community Public Library through the work based learning program. Ava was recently recognized and spoke at the Wildcat Creek Career Cooperative WBL reception. Rachel Milburn, Ava's supervisor, gave some insight into the important work that Ava is doing at the Library.

"Through my work with the Collaborative Summer Library Program, I tasked Ava with creating the 2026 National Theme and Slogan Tool Kit. This was a massive undertaking involving graphic design, working with Canva, and lots of editing. Today, state representatives across more than 48 states and territories are using a kit designed right here in Clinton County by a high school student.

She is currently 'killing it' on her next project: assisting the Indiana Library Federation’s Eliot Rosewater Committee with the High School Book Award List. I cannot share too much about this project, because as she stated it is “top secret” the list has not been announced yet. But if you follow RosieBookReads on Instagram, you will see announcements regarding the work she completed in the Spring.

Ava also is working at a county level, by developing Battle of the Books questions, which I checked and they are quite good. Gotta say, it makes me want to compete myself. Whether she is making a county-level, state-level, or national-level impact, Ava has proven she is a force to be reckoned with.

While their 'big' projects are impressive, I am most proud of how both these ladies handled the day-to-day. Alexandra and Ava mastered the complexities working at the Teen and Children’s desks—which is no small feat—and they did it with smiles that made every visitor feel welcome. They learned to ask the right questions, to value feedback, and to represent the very best of what our library stands for."

We are incredibly proud of Ava and the work she is doing in our community and the representative she is for Clinton Prairie.
